Ronaldinho has officially retired from professional football.

He was one of the game's most spellbinding players, who achieved beyond-iconic status throughout his glistening career. He won a slew of major team honours such as the World Cup, Champions League, Copa America, La Liga and Serie A, as well as individual awards in the form of the Ballon d'Or and FIFA POTY.

Renowned for ripping teams apart single-handedly with effortless skill, magical dribbling and jaw-dropping technique, he's a player that, for many, was the most enjoyable player to watch of all time.

Speaking on the retirement, his agent Roberto Assis said:

"He has stopped, it is ended. We will do various events in Brazil, Europe and Asia and, of course, we are arranging something with the Brazilian team as well."

After playing for the likes of PSG, Barcelona and AC Milan, Ronaldinho most recently played for Brazilian club Fluminense in 2015.

#Ronaldinho, like Andres Iniesta, didn’t dribble. He teleported. Look what he once did to poor Alessandro Nesta: https://t.co/Nk5e6fuiFt
