Under-17 World Cup champion Jonathan Panzo has just joined AS Monaco, becoming the latest Young Lion to move abroad in search for first team opportunities.

While he'd have been restricted a route into Chelsea's team sheet much like many youngsters before him, Monaco offers the talented center back a much more likely route into the starting XI at a very high level of football in Ligue 1 and the Champions League.

Panzo was one of Chelsea's Academy starlets, and widely regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in English football. Monaco reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign the left-footed centre-half for £2.5million including bonuses.

He joins the likes of Jordan Sancho, Reece Oxford, and Marcus Maguane in seeking playing opportunities abroad and strengthening their career opportunities in foreign leagues.
