The 2018-19 away kits for Manchester City F.C. are influenced by kits worn exactly two decades ago, when the 1998-99 squad won what many consider as the most important game in the club’s history.

The shirt drops in dark blue, with field blue and yellow pinstripes down the front to emulate City’s away shirt for their era-defining playoff final against Gillingham. City clawed the game back from two goals down to score two dramatic injury-time goals and go on to win the match on penalties – taking them back up to Division One – sparking their current ascent to their title-winning antics last season.

The kit gets dripped down in volt-colored socks with a dark blue band around the shin to cap off a slick new look ahead of another title-chasing season for the Premier League Champions.

City will take to the field against Liverpool tomorrow to wear the kit, and four original participants from the youth City in the Community program in New York City will launch the kits along with the senior squad. Manchester City dedicated a rooftop pitch to the childern's Harlem-based school, Lexington Academy, in 2010 - offering them a brighter future in football.
