Phil Knight’s acclaimed Shoe Dog memoir is getting turned into a brand new Netflix Original movie.

The book was originally launched in 2016, and has remained on the New York Times bestsellers list ever since. The book explores how Nike came to dominate the world of sportswear, with the Swoosh's founding father transforming a small-time sneaker-selling operation from out of his car boot into a multi-billion dollar company.

Frank Marshall – of Indiana Jones and Back to the Future fame – will direct the film alongside renowned screenwriters Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, in what's set to be an absolute must-watch release.

Talking about the film, Knight said, “I look forward to working with my friend, the great Frank Marshall, in bringing my story and the story of Nike to the screen. I have been gratified by the reception my book has received and think that we can explain my journey and the story of Nike to an even larger audience in collaboration with Netflix.”
