London basement club, Visions, is set to shut down "immediately."

The storied venue has morphed over the years, starting out life as an actual video bar before becoming a full-time nightclub that most know it as today – having held host to some of grime's finest.

The immediate closure of the club was announced on the team's Instagram, and reads: “It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the immediate closure of the venue you know as Visions. We’ve had some of the best times with you all and we cannot thank you enough.”

Here's the statement from the Visions team in full.

However, the statement also suggests this isn't the end of Visions, with a "new venture" set to be announced in the near future.

This news comes as London is facing an increased clampdown on its nightlife. Dalston's the Alibi also announced earlier this week that it would close after nearly eight years in service.
