Schalke have signed young Welsh forward Rabbi Matondo for £11 million after agreeing on a fee with Manchester City.

The 18-year-old, blessed with lightning pace comparable to ex-teammates Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling, was yet to make his senior debut for City but is a full Wales international, having grown up in South Wales after being born in Liverpool.

Matondo becomes the latest youth prospect to leave Manchester City in a multi-million-pound move, with Jadon Sancho and Brahim Diaz having already departed City's Academy in the last few seasons. Taking to Instagram, Matondo spoke of his delight with the move, "A real honour to sign for a club of this size and stature! Looking forward to pulling on the shirt as soon as possible and playing at the Veltins arena in front of the Schalker Meile!!"

In other transfer news, Emile Smith-Rowe and Eddie Nketiah are heading to the Bundesliga for the rest of the season.
