Skepta has just dropped off the remix to rising New York rapper Pop Smoke's viral street anthem "Welcome to the Party".

Borrowing the flow and high-octane energy of the original track, Skeppy adds the iconic icy synths he laid down throughout his latest album 'Ignorance Is Bliss' alongside his usual greazy bars to serve up a cold UK reworking of the OG.

Skepta's been known to remix cold US rap tracks in the past, having jumped on tracks from Flatbush Zombies, KEY and Xavier Wulf in the past – but this is the first time he's remixed a US track that has uses a definitively UK beat. The anthemic drill instrumental is produced by 808Melo, who has become one of the drill's hardest new beatsmiths, having worked on heat with Headie One and RV in the past.

Stream Skepta's "Welcome to the Party" remix above and in other UK music news, Monkey has delivered 67’s first project of 2019, ‘Wild N Loose’.
