The Lionesses will make history in their friendly with Germany next month, setting a new world record for attendance in women's football.

After teasing the news all week, the FA has confirmed that all 90,000 tickets at Wembley Stadium have been sold for the England team's game against Germany in November – which will shatter the previous record of 80,203 for the 2012 Olympic final between United States and Japan.

The fixture at the home of English football comes on the back of a history-making Women's World Cup, that saw record TV audiences as England reached the semi-finals for a third consecutive major tournament.
