Hackney Wick FC have partnered with Nike on a new mini-doc looking at the impact of one of London's most important community clubs and founder Bobby Kasanga, who has been helping to create change through football.

After being released from prison in 2015, Bobby Kasanga decided to change his life and his community through football. Bobby has diligently undertaken a project which has seen Hackney Wick FC get kids off the streets and playing football with the distinct aim of becoming the symbol of anti-youth violence activism in London. The club is entirely run by volunteers, with 230 active players across 18 teams of differing age groups  Speaking to Nike about his role and the impact of the club, Kasanga said: “I wanted to keep the kids off the streets, keep them occupied, and give them a path. Football is my passion, it’s my world,” says Bobby, “And we've only been going for four years. What more can we achieve?”

Worryingly, the club face becoming homeless and may have to leave the borough to find a new ground, with the club currently searching for finding somewhere to play from April.

Hopefully, the new Nike campaign can help raise more awareness on the great work Hackney Wick does in the community, as well as their search for a new home ground. Watch Episode 1 of Nike's new series, “From the Grounds Up,” above.
