Diadora is making a big statement with the release of a super limited-edition capsule collection in tribute to the brand’s legendary Ballon d’Or winners.
The ‘Gold’ collection sees two of the brand’s most famous silos – the iconic Brasil and the new B-Elite – dripped out in an all-over gold colourway to recognise the fact that 2020 will be the first year since 1956 that football’s most decorated individual prize will not be awarded.
In reference to this unique moment in time, just 56 pairs of each boot will be released. Diadora and the Ballon d’Or have a strong heritage through past icons Marco Van Basten, Roberto Baggio and George Weah all recipients of the award whilst sporting the Italian brand. Dominating the late 1980s and early 1990s, the brand was synonymous with the pinnacle of European football and the names that shaped the game.
To create the metallic golden look, Diadora’s individual hand- crafted construction added a unique process for this boots incorporating an incredibly fine golden foil lamination anchored to the leather. The process produces an incredibly thin micro coating and ensures a true golden texture and colour bespoke to the leather.
The Diadora ‘Gold’ capsule is available exclusively at Pro:Direct Soccer now.
