Hashtag United are set to make history are receiving offers for their eSports FIFA player, Tom Leese.

The Isthmian League North club have received two offers for England international eLion Tom Leese, which are set to bank Hashtag in the region of £50,000-£100,000.

The 22-year-old is one of the best pro players in the world and is under contract with Hashtag – with a source close to the negotiations saying the transfer offer is the unprecedented when it comes to FIFA.

Leese has built up a following by playing the platform, having recently won £20,000 in prize money when representing Watford in the ePremier League in August 2020. Top-level professional FIFA players can earn around £10,000 per month, with their social media followings also lucrative for sponsorship deals.

Leese has still yet to agree personal terms with the interested clubs or if Hashtag will accept the bid – but the potential transfer money would reportedly be reinvested into a new football/eSports stadium as the club continues to expand.
