Sunderland Will Donate £1-Per-Ticket from Next Fixture to the Bradley Lowery Foundation
Following Jermain Defoe's return to the club ❤️🤍
After re-signing for Sunderland in the January transfer window, Jermain Defoe has announced that £1 from every ticket sold for his first game back at the club will go towards the Bradley Lowery Foundation.
Defoe last played for The Black Cats back in 2017, and his first stint at the club saw the former England striker get to know Bradley and his family, with Defoe becoming close friends with Lowery during his fight against neuroblastoma.
Sadly, in the same year, Lowery passed aged just six years old – but the Bradley Lowery Foundation was established to help other families going through similar situations and support their fundraising goals.
Sunderland and Defoe revealed that £1 from every ticket sold for the match at The Stadium of Light against Doncaster on Saturday will be donated to the charity.
Announcing the news on Sunderland’s socials, Defoe said: “Hey guys, I’m back. Thank you for the amazing welcome, it’s been great.
“There’s a massive game at the weekend, we need your support, we need that stadium full and rocking. And even more special, for every ticket sold a pound goes to the Bradley Lowery Foundation, and you all know what that means to me and my family.”
