To mark International Women’s Day, Ten Toes have released a short film in partnership with Pernille Harder and Magdalena Eriksson, to celebrate the couple’s achievements on and off the pitch.

Two of the biggest names in women’s football, Harder and Eriksson are also putting in the hard work to be known as advocates for the LGBTQ+ community.

“For both of us, difference is something we celebrate and value. We both feel so strongly that we should cherish diversity and we should strive for inclusion. We keep pushing forward because we want a world without discrimination and stereotypes, a world that really is better for everyone.” Explained Harder when asked about the purpose and significance of the film.

Directed and written by Dean George, the film sees the pair engrossed in each other’s company through a series of relatable and stylised elements, providing a snapshot into the everyday lives of the couple.

The narration of this piece highlights moments of pride and off-pitch achievements for the two footballers.

“International Women’s Day is a celebration of the social, political and cultural achievements of women. For us, there’s no one better to shine a light on today than Pernille and Magdalena. They are revered for the conversations they’ve started and their unceasing efforts to challenge the status quo” said Fi McCrindle, Digital and Campaign Lead at Ten Toes.

“A huge part of what we do at Ten Toes is to help players tell their stories away from the pitch. Pernille and Magda's story is inspiring and uplifting, so for us, it was really important to create this piece and make sure everyone is able to celebrate them and know what they’ve achieved”.

'Love Always Wins' is a Ten Toes film, written and directed by Dean George and produced by Fresh Base Productions.
