Major League Soccer just signed a historic deal with Apple TV, giving the streaming platform the right to broadcast the league globally for the next 10 years.

The new partnership – the first of its kind between a major football league and a streaming service – will see every game available to view all over the world, with no local blackouts or broadcast restrictions of any kind.

Every MLS league and cup game will be available via a new subscription service exclusively on the Apple TV app, making every fixture viewable on Smart TVs, iOS devices, games consoles, streaming devices and more.

The new deal will kick off from the 2023 season, and represents the first significant integration between a major football league and a streaming service.

Amazon Prime currently broadcasts a select number of Premier League games in the UK, while Netflix has long been rumoured to be after major sports rights, but MLS is the first league to exclusively sign with a streaming partner for every single game.

This is what the future looks like.
