Swedish powerhouse AIK have once again linked up with Nike for some limited-edition goodness, this time to celebrate the club's 132nd anniversary.

This year's iteration, revealed via a three-storey mural, is a shirt celebrating the club's hometown of Stockholm, and features an all-over pattern inspired by one of Sweden's most famous paintings, Urban målare's 'Vädersolstavlan' - 'The Sundog Painting'.

Nike have taken the 1535 depiction of sun dogs over a medieval Stockholm and recreated it for the shirt's recycled polyester base. Like all AIK limited-edition releases, the attention to detail on their latest drop is next level.

The shirt's badge sits on a base of black velvet whilst the famous Nike 'Swoosh' - designer Carolyn Davidson's original from 1971 - is handcrafted using 3D silicon.

The gold elements found in the shirt's raised prints, cuffs, and the kit's socks, have been enriched with metal particles to make them shimmer and shine.

Few clubs can legitimately claim to be 'The World's Most Stylish', but AIK have been producing special-edition kits of this magnitude since 2017 and even before then were known as one of the classiest clubs in football.

In the early 20th century, they played a style of football so easy on the eye that it was referred to as “smokinglir”, or “tuxedo play”. It became a term not only used to describe the team but also the way the club looked and behaved off the field. This latest collaboration with Nike, now in the seventh year of their partnership together, only increases their lead at the top of football's sartorial rankings.

The Nike AIK 132nd anniversary jersey will be released in extremely limited numbers. Only 132 shirts will be given away by the club, mainly to season ticket holders.
