Stormzy and adidas have opened applications for year two of the #Merky FC program, with 50 jobs in football up for grabs.
The rapper joined forces with The Three Stripes last year to launch the program in order to address the lack of Black people in the football industry. Applications were open to young, Black people in the UK interested in breaking into football off the pitch rather than on it.
Year one was a major success, with 15 applicants securing job placements at partner companies in different areas of the sport – content creation, marketing, sales and more.
This year, the amount of roles available have more than tripled, with 50 career opportunities at media mavens, agencies and major clubs kicking off another season of #Merky FC. Some of last year’s partners are back, but heavy hitters like Arsenal, ITV and EA Sports have joined the lineup.
Applications are open to young, Black people between the ages of 18 and 24 on the #Merky FC website.
