VERSUS is the platform championing the future of football and its rising influence on culture and society.
As Staff Writer, you’ll play a major role in contributing to our day-to-day editorial output by writing news stories, features and original content that will engage our community on site and social platforms. From reporting on the latest football-fashion stories to writing iconic VERSUS captions about the game's best players, you will be creating the most compelling football content in culture.
• Producing written content for VERSUS site and social
• Generating ideas for editorial content every day
• Pitching news and features in our daily editorial meetings
• Creating and publishing your work in our content management system
• Finding content that could be posted by our social team on Instagram and TikTok
• Assisting the editorial and commercial team with major projects
• Building relationships with stakeholders in the football/culture space
• Representing the VERSUS brand at press and/or industry events
• Outstanding command of written copy and attention to detail
• Deep-rooted love of football and understanding of the culture that surrounds it
• Passion and knowledge for contemporary culture and social issues (music, style, sustainability, identity and more)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to tight deadlines
• Self-starter attitude with drive to create great work
• A deep-rooted love of football and the game’s impact on wider culture
• Working knowledge of Instagram, TikTok and X
• The ability and desire to work within our London office
