The Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi rivalry has reportedly reached a new level of petty.
CR7 is currently the third highest paid player in the world, where he's earning a mere 32 million euros a year. But according to Mundo Deportivo, he's asked for a new deal - that's worth exactly €1 more than Messi makes.
The Barca star earns a reported 40 million euros a year, and his Real Madrid rival wants to make sure he's earning more than his long-term sparring partner for the Ballon D'or - even if it means surpassing his fee by a solitary euro.
Whether or not the report is accurate is somewhat dubious, but one thing that's not up for debate are Argentina and Portugal's kits at this year's World Cup, which are very, very good.
