Sky Sports has lost the coverage of Spanish football after the rights to show La Liga in the UK were won by new broadcaster Eleven Sports.

Created by Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani, Eleven Sports will take over Sky's partnership after the latter's £18 million per year bid for the rights was rejected by the league.

Eleven currently holds the rights in Belgium and Poland, but doesn't have a channel of its own yet in the UK. Eleven has secured the rights for the next three seasons, meaning it can stream games on digital services on set up a new independent channel.

Football Twitter has already reacted to the news like only it can.
