Nike and Brazil have been together since 1996 - in football years, that equates to seven World Cups - and during that time, have given fans some of the most iconic kits and kicks the game has ever seen. The upcoming Nike Air Max Plus ‘Brazil’ is no different.

The AM Plus 'Brazil' will be adorned in the colours of Seleção, arriving in “White/Citron/Pulse Black/Hyper Royal” with the design tied together by white laces (literally). The instantly recognisable colours of the Brazilian flag overlaid on a crisp, white base make for one of the cleanest colourways on offer so far this year.

Following the usual gradual tones of the Air Max Plus silhouette, the ‘Brazil’ pack sees the upper’s cage colours transition from yellow on the heel, green on the midsole and finally blue on the toe. White leather mudguards and matching white plastic toe-caps complete the clean finish, whilst the black outsole brings the entire look together.

This upcoming release got us thinking about Nike's 2006 World Cup Air Max 95, a sneaker that also paid homage to the Seleção’s national colours, even placing the Brazilian Football Confederation's logo on the silhouette's tongue. The ultimate grail for football fans and sneakerheads alike. And once we started thinking about the AM95, we started thinking about the Air Max 'R9 Mercurial', possibly one of the most coveted pair of football-inspired kicks ever released. Royal blue, metallic silver, yellow accents and a giant yellow Swoosh...does it get any more Il Fenomeno than that? Like we said, Nike and Brazil go way back.

A release date on Nike's latest AM Plus iteration has yet to be announced, but take a closer look at the design below in anticipation for when it eventually does drop.
