Nike is rumoured to be bringing one of their most iconic sneaker silhouettes to the pitch later this year, the Air Max 95.

To celebrate the silo’s 30th anniversary, the Swoosh are supposedly releasing a Nike Zoom Vapor 16 “Air Max 95”, bringing Sergio Lozano’s famous design to the beautiful game.

The release takes on the OG AM 95 colourway first introduced back in 1995. The boots’ white mesh upper sits on a gradient grey overlay, sat against a charcoal-coloured footbed, with the iconic neon green accents featuring on the studs, Swoosh and eyestays.

The boots are set to arrive in an almost like-for-like version of the original AM 95 shoebox design, a nod sneakerheads are sure to lose their heads over.

This isn’t the first time Nike have merged the worlds of football and sneaker culture for a boot release. Last year, the Air Mercurial Tn combined the Air Zoom Mercurial Superfly IX and Air Max Plus, worn by the likes of Vini Jr and Lauren James. We also saw the release of the Air Max Plus Tiempo in multiple colourways: “Wolf Grey”, “Team Red”, “Black/White” and “Phantom Gold”.

Nike haven’t officially confirmed a release date yet but keep it locked to VERSUS to find out more
