Nike have just gifted Kylian Mbappé two new custom sneakers for his birthday.
Arriving in a custom 'Mbappé' Swoosh box, the Air Max Plus and Air Max 270 silhouettes were originally created by Julien Pagès and Mathias Prognon for WAVE magazine to pay homage to the Bondy-born baller after he secured France's second World Cup and winning the award for best young player at the tournament.
The Air Max Plus pays homage to the footballer’s birth year, 1998, (the year France won their first World Cup) while the other is the recent Air Max 270, to celebrate France’s modern-day success, to celebrate 20 years of national and individual success.
The shoes get dipped in white and are accentuated with red and blue flecks on the upper. The Air Max Plus features France’s first gold star, symbolizing France’s World Cup win in 1998, while the Air Max 270 features two stars, commemorating this year’s success.
