CBS has signed a multi-year deal with the English Football League, bringing the widest-ever distribution of EFL matches to the USA starting next season.

The broadcasting deal will see CBS air over 250 EFL matches across the Championship, League One, League Two, Carabao Cup and the EFL Trophy. The matches will be available to watch in the States on CBS Sports Network, Paramount+ and CBS Sports Golazo, joining the broadcaster’s football portfolio alongside the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and NWSL.

The popularity of shows and documentaries like ‘Ted Lasso’ and ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ has seen American interest in English football skyrocket in recent years. With this new broadcast deal, the EFL’s popularity will only continue to grow, building a new fanbase with different avenues for investment and revenue generation.

The new deal starts when the 2024/25 season kicks off next month, and will last through to 2027/28.
