We’re Hosting a Live Panel and Viewing Party for Nigeria’s First World Cup Game

"Why Nigerian Culture Is Taking Over the World Right Now"

June 12th 2018

Nigeria are ready to shut down Russia 2018 and to mark their opening game, VERSUS is hosting a Naija takeover.

After Nigeria’s World Cup kit became the hottest selling item of the summer, we’re presenting an all-star panel to break down how Naija artists, athletes and creators became the most influential force of 2018 in a discussion titled: ‘Why Nigerian Culture Is Taking Over the World Right Now’.

Sitting on the panel will be: UKG producer Conducta, Jimmy Ayeni – founder of Nigerian streetwear brand Vivendii – and Ayoade Zahrah Bamgboye, managing editor of African culture magazine, The Native. Hosting the discussion will be Complex UK’s Tobi Oke.

The panel will provide you with an opportunity to hear from some of the most influential British-Nigerian voices in London culture today, and you’ll also get the rare chance for a closer look at Nike’s already-iconic Nigeria collection, which will be on display at the event. To close out the night, we’ll be screening the Super Eagles’ first World Cup game against Croatia.

Attendance is free and you can be there by signing up here.

The takeover will be hosted in partnership with Soho Warriors at their International Clubhouse, a multi-dimensional pop-up space that will be open throughout the World Cup.
