Nigeria are reportedly attempting to lure Chelsea bagsman Tammy Abraham away from England duty, with The Super Eagles rumoured to have asked the 21-year-old to snub interest from the Three Lions.

The 21-year-old, whose father is Nigerian, has featured at every youth level for England and already has two senior caps in friendly fixtures, but is still yet to make a competitive international appearance – meaning he can still switch allegiances.

Reports have now emerged that Nigeria have made contact in an attempt to secure his services, with Nigerian Football Federation president Amaju Pinnock saying, “We will not relent in our quest for good players to pay for the country and win laurels. We will keep talking to good players of Nigerian descent to play for their Fatherland."

Pinnock continued to say that Nigeria will have to wait on the decision until next year, “But these kids are very independent-minded. We have been told to wait until April 2020, when he hopes to make a final decision on the matter. I told him that he had a better chance of playing regularly for Nigeria than with England, which has a galaxy of strikers.”
