Clash of Clans just turned Erling Haaland into an in-game character, making the Manchester City striker the first person to get their own character in the game.
The news was announced through a fun video, with Haaland transporting into the game through a portal, revealing his in-game form. The Norwegian star will be immortalised in the mobile game as the ‘Barbarian King,’ giving players the rare opportunity to either play as him or attempt to raid his in-game village.
With Haaland being an avid fan of the game himself, it was only right for him to be the first person to get his own Clash of Clans persona. It’s rare to see footballers featured in games that have no relation to the sport, but with Haaland setting a new standard, we might see more ballers break into the gaming space in the future.
Players will be able to clash with Haaland starting on 1 May.
