Eni Aluko has launched a £60k scholarship in conjunction with Brunel University, supporting the next generation of lawyers and sports stars in their studies and career development.

Aluko received her law degree from Brunel in 2008, crediting the university with heavily impacting her career as a sports lawyer as well as a footballer. Now she’s giving back to the institution with the Hyphen Scholarship.

The £60,000 scholarship will be spread across two years and contribute towards the tuition fees, travel expenses and competitions for five law students and 10 sports students. In addition to the funding, Aluko has partnered with adidas for recipients to receive sponsored kit from the sportswear brand.

Aluko said: “Brunel had such an important and lasting impact on my legal education and the start of my professional football career, and this scholarship is my way of creating impact and support for Brunel students in sport and law.

“Coming back to Brunel to support other young people who want to succeed in sport and in their legal studies means a great deal to me.”

All students applying for Brunel's International Human Rights Law LLM programme are eligible to apply for the Hyphen Scholarship – Law, while students on the university's Sports Scholarship programme will be invited to apply for the Hyphen Scholarship – Sport.
