England and Manchester United baller Marcus Rashford has teamed up with food charity Fareshare to help feed children missing out on their free school meals while schools are closed across the UK.

With 32,000 schools across the country set to close, lots of children are set to lose out on their free school meals – and Rashford has now partnered with Fareshare to help ensure they’re catered for.

Fareshare redistributes surplus food to charities who then turn the produce into meals for the vulnerable, and Rashford’s financial donation to the organisation is believed to be the single largest amount pledged in the last 12 months.

Rashford raised awareness on his Twitter about the scheme, saying: "Across the UK there are over 32,000 schools. Tomorrow all of these will close. Many of the children attending these schools rely on free meals. No children should have to worry where their next meal is coming from."

Since his initial tweet last week, Rashford has helped raise an additional £93,000 for the charity – providing a significant boost for children in need across the UK.
