Tariq Lamptey has donated robotics kits to Achievers Ghana, an organisation dedicated to promoting technological education for young girls.

The donation is part of the Tariq Lamptey Foundation’s ongoing efforts to encourage and support STEM education in Ghana, with the Black Stars and Brighton player’s latest effort aiming to bridge the gender gap in science and technology.

The high-end kits will allow Achievers Ghana to offer hands-on experience to girls that otherwise wouldn’t get the chance. Students will also be able to participate in national and international robotics competitions, giving them the opportunity to engage with innovators around the world.

Lamptey’s initiative not only aims to foster innovation and creativity through tech, but provides a boost to these schoolgirls’ confidence and inspires them to pursue careers in STEM – a field that is still predominantly male despite efforts in the last 20 years to diversify the space.

Many players have utilised their charitable foundations to give back to the communities that raised them, from Eberechi Eze to Jeremie Frimpong. Lamptey supporting girls and students in his country of origin, isn’t only a touch of class from the young baller, but also helps to promote inclusivity and diversity in an industry that needs it.
