Reece James is giving back to the community by providing additional meals for hungry children in London with food charity organisation, The Felix Project.

The Chelsea right back is aiming to raise £100k to make sure children and their families have enough food and is urging others to join him in supporting the organisation.

James has set up a page to help raise money for The Felix Project and create something special for all the people suffering – with every £10 raised providing 61 meals.

The Felix Project rescues surplus food in London and delivers it, free of charge, direct to local charities and schools serving people in need. They are the biggest organisation doing this in London. The project rescue all good surplus food  – such as meat, fish, veggies, fruit - from businesses in London that would otherwise be thrown away and provide it to the most needy.

Speaking about the campaign, James said: "We all need to come together to create positive change and #endchildfoodpoverty!! Please share with all your friends and family! I’m setting a target of £100,000 which is equivalent to 610,000 meals.

"I know we can smash this. Please help out if you can it’s for a great cause. No child deserves to go to bed hungry. Get involved now and let’s help feed London together."

James' support for The Felix Project is the latest philanthropic endeavour from the 20-year-old, who earlier this year helped Unique Sports Management (USM) raise £100,000 for local communities during the coronavirus crisis.

James' campaign is currently 18% of the way to reaching it's target of £100,000. You can donate to the cause by following this link to the Virgin Money Giving Page.
