Lionel Messi just signed the biggest contract of his career.

The Barcelona superstar put pen to paper on a new deal last month that will see him stay in Catalonia until 2021 and reports in Spain have revealed the head-spinning details behind the contract.

In addition to a €700 million buy out clause, the new deal will see Barcelona spend €70 million on salary for Messi each year. The new contract makes Messi the second-highest paid player in world football – behind Neymar – taking home €100,000 a day.

Those figures don't include any money Messi will accrue from sponsorship deals with the likes of adidas or Pepsi.
