adidas are reportedly honouring eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi with his very-own Samba.
The humble Samba has taken the sneaker world by storm in recent years, and for those who thought the blokecore staple's reign was over, it's about to get a new lease of life courtesy of football's very own GOAT.
Arriving in classic white leather and off-white suede, Messi's Samba incorporates traditional elements of the silhouette - like its hardwearing gum sole - with subtle updates. The Argentinian captain's signature logo, 'M', graces the tongue in neon yellow, with the insoles also dressed in the same luminous hue.adidas' Three Stripes and the shoes' heel tabs add a pop of purple colouring to the otherwise classic colourway, a shade first worn by Argentina during the 2022 FIFA World Cup - reportedly in a move to highlight gender equality.
2023 saw adidas collaborate with Wales Bonner, Kith and JJJJound to produce some of the most popular Samba iterations to date, but the German sportswear brand has gone a step further by linking up with one of football's most iconic players in history.
