Drake Is Donating $1 Million to Build Basketball Courts for Toronto’s Young Ballers
Drake and the Raptors are funding local community basketball.
OVO are expanding their partnership with The Toronto Raptors with the team’s Global Ambassador, Drake.
The new “Welcome Toronto” program will consist of six special home games, where the Raptors will wear the recently unveiled OVO edition jerseys, as well as debuting a new home court made from northern maple wood and given a new lick of paint, with OVO’s signature black and gold set to furnish the floor.
The deal will also secure $1 million USD for local community basketball courts to enjoy new refurbishments alongside additional $2 million USD to Canada Basketball.
On the latest project, Drake stated: “As this team and Toronto continues to grow, we have seen how much we can do together. “Welcome Toronto” is about celebrating our team and our city, but also working together to give back to the community and creating a place where the youth of our city can come together to play. These same courts could also potentially shape the next generation of Canadian basketball superstars.”
