Nike are dropping off a wavey new Naija edition of NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo's signature shoe – the Zoom Freak 2 – which pays homage to the homeland of his parents.
The new colourway is inspired by the "boundless potential, youthful exuberance and infectious charisma" of Nigeria which help fuel national pride. Love for The Super Eagles is now seen all over the world through the Nigeria football shirt and its global success.
Giannis's late father, Charles, bonded with his sons through the beautiful game, furthering Giannis's own passion for the sport, and the new edition of the Freak 2 pays homage to one of the most iconic shirts of all time and the sport he loved first before becoming a basketball superstar.
The bright-hued homage dresses the silhouette in the same colours and textures that grace the kits of the Nigerian national team, with Giannis's number 34 running also running along the medial side of the shoe.
