Mikel Arteta has added another weapon to his Arsenal in the shape of Hussein Isa, aka the ‘Tekkers Guru’.
The North London club's appointed Isa to the role of Attacking-Phase Coach, as first reported by The Athletic, and will see him work with both the First Team and leading Academy talents hoping to make the transition to Arteta’s squad. The 34-year-old former non-League attacking midfielder, previously played for Hashtag United and represented England at futsal, gained the nickname ‘Tekkers Guru’ thanks to his online skills and free-kick videos.
Isa also spent time as a trainee at Spurs, as well working with both QPR and Crystal Palace academies. His silky skills have even earned him commercial experience by standing in for some of football’s biggest stars like Lionel Messi, Eden Hazard and Sergio Aguero on shoots.
From YouTube to the Premier League, Isa will be expected to develop Arsenal’s forward players by helping them to improve the most technical aspects of their game, such as touch, shooting and heading in the final third.
It is understood Isa will start work in the summer ahead of the 2023-2024 season.
