Arsenal are reportedly set to recall Eddie Nketiah from Leeds in January before loaning out the Young Lion to another Championship side in the same window.

Nketiah joined Marcelo Bielsa's side on a season-long loan in August, but the 20 year-old has has only started two his thirteen appearances – with all 11 of his league appearances coming off the bench.

Despite this, Nketiah has bagged five goals for Leeds this season while being behind Patrick Bamford in the pecking order. Nketiah has been out injured with a abdominal injury for the last month, but Arsenal had been angered by his lack of action long before he was sidelined.

Nketiah's time at Elland Road is now likely to be cut short and a second loan move lined up, with Bristol City expected to revive their interest in the striker. Bristol City loaned Benik Afobe from Stoke in the summer, but the forward suffered a long-term knee injury, paving the way for them to pounce for Nketiah when he likely becomes available in the upcoming window.

Arsenal manager Freddie Ljungberg coached Nketiah last season in his role with the club's under-23s, and hinted at the Gunners' unhappiness with hinted at the Gunners' displeasure with England under-21 striker's situation, saying: "I need to be careful [what I say] but I think Eddie is a great player. If he goes on loan we want him to play football and get minutes otherwise they can maybe be here.

"I feel a bit sorry for him because he is a great player and the future of this club. When he has had his chance he scores goals and that's what he is about."
