Arsène Wenger’s statue is soon to be unveiled at The Emirates.
The North London club have been working on the bronze statue over a prolonged period of time but always with the expectation that it will be ready to coincide with and commemorate Arsenal’s 20th anniversary of the Invincible season.
Reportedly the first official viewing of the statue will be released via a digital unveiling, with Wenger later attending a private ceremony with family, friends and several Invincibles. An exact date has yet to be announced, but with the new season due to kick-off in just over four weeks, fans should expect the statue to make an appearance imminently.
Wenger was Arsenal’s manager for 22 years, and the Invincible achievement of 2003-04 – when his team went unbeaten for a complete league season – remains a cornerstone of his managerial career as well an integral part of the club’s history as one of the most successful in English football.
The frenchman will join the likes of Dennis Bergkamp, Tony Adams, Theirry Henry and Herbert Chapman, all of whom already have been immortalised in statue form by the club.
