Barcelona have signed Arsenal midfielder Marcus McGuane for an undisclosed fee.

The 18-year-old reportedly rejected a new contract at the club to join the Catalunyans, having only just made two appearances for Arsenal's first team in the Europa League this season.

Barcelona intend to play him in their B team, who are currently in a relegation battle in Spain's Second Division. They've set his buy-out clause  at 25m euros (£21.9m) in a 3-year deal.

A dream come true. Today I signed for the biggest club in the world and tomorrow I start work. What a special day it has been for me and my family. I thank my family, coaches, friends and people who have helped me along my journey. I have already fallen in love with the city as I had fallen in love with the club many years ago. Now I am ready to start this new chapter and challenge?? @fcbarcelona @fcbarcelonab #ForçaBarça #FCBarcelona
