The United States national team may not be involved in this summer’s World Cup but that hasn’t stopped them from preparing for a much brighter future.
The 22-player-squad for their upcoming friendly with Paraguay has just been announced, and its average age is just 24 years old.
Part of that squad is 18-year-old PSG prodigy Timothy Weah, who has already made two first-team appearances with the Ligue One leaders this month.
Weah is the son of one-time World Player of the Year and current president of Liberia George Weah, and has already been banging them in at U-17 level, having scored a hat-trick at the recent U-17 World Cup.
U.S. manager Dave Sarachan is also speaking fondly of him, stating:
“He's a versatile player than can fit in at a couple different positions, and when you have speed and technical ability combined as a young kid, I think he's an interesting prospect to offer an opportunity to."
