EA SPORTS are Now Testing Out Cross-Play in FIFA 22

Finally 🎮

May 4th 2022

FIFA 22 will finally be allowing cross-play functionality in-game, allowing players from different platforms to play the game with each other for the first time.

EA SPORTS will conduct a cross-play test for Online Seasons and Online Friendlies modes, meaning that you can choose to play FIFA 22 with a friend on another platform, or climb the Online Seasons Divisions against players potentially playing on other platforms.

As part of the announcement FIFA have said that: “We are confident that the game data and feedback that we get from these two modes will help inform how Cross-play could further be implemented in future titles.”

You can activate cross-play from the main menu of FIFA 22, where you can find a widget in the bottom right hand corner that can be opened with the corresponding button prompt.

After activating the widget, you just have to click the button prompt to enable or disable your cross-play test participation going forward – where you can search for friends regardless of their platform.

You can use the cross-lay test on FIFA 22 via PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Stadia versions of the game now.
