Carson Pickett features in EA Sports FC 24 Ultimate Team, making her the first player in the gaming franchise’s history with a limb difference.
Pickett was born without her left forearm and hand, and is one of the most well-known football players with a limb difference.
With women ballers being included in Ultimate Team’s latest iteration, the USWNT defender has increased visibility for athletes with limb differences and other disabilities in one of the world’s most popular games.
Pickett is outspoken about limb difference awareness and uses her platform to serve as an advocate. In 2020, she worked with Nike to develop the Phantom GT Academy FlyEase football boots. The boots were made keeping players with disabilities in mind, designed with a wraparound closure and fold-down heel for ease of use.
The Racing Louisville player is already an inspiration to many, proving that disabilities don’t have to be a barrier in sport. She has played at the top level for her entire career, and with her inclusion in EA Sports FC 24, her story can continue to inspire and encourage others on a global scale.
