Alex Scott could be in line to feature in FIFA 22 after reports emerged that the Arsenal and England legend will be inducted into the game as the first ever female commentator.
As reported by leading FIFA news account @FUTZONECENTRAL, Scott will become the first-ever female on the game's commentary panel, in a move that will hopefully signify wider female representation in the game.
Since retiring, Scott has quickly become one of the UK's most popular football pundits. The ex-defender is now an ever present figure at the biggest Premier League matches and is set to replace Dan Walker as the new presenter of BBC Football Focus next season.
Scott is also currently delivering levels at the Euros for the BBC this summer, with her acumen of the game, exemplary delivery and hosting prowess set to provide a much-needed shake up on the commentary for the series, which has got slightly dusty in recent years.
Introducing Scott on commentary indicates a long-overdue move from FIFA, which still only allows the option to play as a women's international sides via Quick Play matches. The next step for FIFA could finally announce the arrival of domestic women's teams in FIFA 22, alongside international sides.
