Danish International Sportswear brand hummel have collaborated with New York menswear designer Willy Chavarria for a new capsule collection designed to identify football as a global unifier of people, transcending race and class.
The numbers 5683 run throughout the new collaboration, which translates to the word L-O-V-E on the US digital keypad. The wavey new range includes striking over-sized pieces and re-interpretations of both the Willy Chavarria and hummel logos in a blend of red, white and black colourways.
Speaking about the collection, Chavvaria said, “I incorporate my personal style into the relaxed attitude of my clothing collection. I design with an open mind and invite progressive philosophies and ideas which translate into my apparel. It’s intended to be non-discriminating and genderless self-empowering.”
The collab’s support of soccer as a global unifier of people has been cemented by hummel’s sponsorship of the Rooklyn International Football Association (RIFA), a collective of both documented and non-documented US citizens who were used to model the campaign and the first to wear the range.
