After revealing the results of the Nike: On Air sneaker design contest in May last year, Nike has dropped the prize-winning pairs that will be getting put into production in April.

Each shoe sees local designers from New York, Seoul, Tokyo, London, Paris and Shanghai all rep their city with a unique design that pays homage to their respective hometowns.

Kicking off the European winners, Gabrielle Serrano’s Air Max 98 ”La Mezcla”, the iteration celebrates the racial diversity in New York City, implementing a range of skin complexions into the design alongside a collage of flags from around the world on the model's insole.

Jasmine Lasode's nostalgic Air Max 97 ”London Summer of Love”, using vibrant colours from summertime in London to reflect her memories from a first date on Primrose Hill.

Lou Matheron’s industrial Air VaporMax Plus is titled ”Paris Works in Progress” and features a midfoot strap and a Swoosh motif screwed on to the lateral side.

First up from the Asian winners is Cash Ru’s Air Max 97 “SH Kaleidoscope”, which creates an illusory effect by overlapping translucent side overlays and heel-tabs to immitate the multilayered clouds seen in the Shanghai Sky.

Gwang Shin’s Air Max 97 “Neon Seoul” juxtaposes a matte black upper alongside the brighter colors of the South Korean flag, while also using a reflective material to dress the Nike branding.

Yuta Takuman’s Nike Air Max 1 “Tokyo Maze” rounds off the collection, featuring an all-over black-and-white labyrinth pattern to represent the Tokyo’s sprawling subway system and capped off with rainbow laces.

The six winners above will visit the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, in the next step of their On Air journey, where they'll meet with teams in product development and marketing. Follow Nike.com/OnAir for more information.

In other sneaker news, Supreme’s upcoming S/S 2019 Nike collab has leaked.
