Ronaldo Vieira is the latest young England star making the leap to Europe.

The England U21 international – who's scored one goal in three caps for the Three Lions – has joined Sampdoria of Serie A in a deal that's reportedly worth £6.2 million.

Arguably the best name in football, Ronaldo Vieira was born in Guinea Bissau but moved to England in 2011 and has made almost 60 appearances for Leeds United in the last two seasons.

Speaking on the decision to leave Leeds for Serie A, Vieira said:

"Sometimes in life things don’t go as you want them. Sometimes things are out of your control. But then you have to take these opportunities and give it your everything the same way I have always done. I have nothing but love for Leeds United. I have many great memories, I started my career at Leeds so I would like to thank every coach and member of staff who has been involved in my development, my teammates who have become like family to me and I wish them all the best for the future."

Vieira is the latest name to join an ever-growing legion of young England players making the move to European giants. This year alone, Marcus McGuane has joined Barcelona, Jonathan Panzo has moved to Monaco and Reo Griffiths switched Spurs for Lyon.

The future is bright for England's next generation.
