VERSUS got a closer look at the upcoming Lack of Guidance and Diadora Mythos 280 GB sneaker collaboration before it hit the streets, and it does not disappoint.
The Amsterdam-based label is no stranger to a football-inspired drop, but this one steps into a different lane. After collaborating with ASICS earlier this year on a sneaker inspired by Japan’s 1998 goalkeeper top, they’ve followed the same path for this release — celebrating all things calcio with one of Italy’s most historic sportswear brands.
First launched in 2008, the Mythos 280 GB embodied the bold Y2K maximalism aesthetic synonymous with the early 2000s. And although a contemporary reinterpretation of the '00s release, Lack of Guidance have stayed true to the bold, futuristic look tied to that era with this drop.
The collaboration sees Diadora’s iconic Mythos silo reimagined, nodding to Italian identity with a colourway inspired by the country’s flag. The combination of bold black patent leather and tricolore accents in the design of the shoe captures the era’s unique blend of elegance and attitude.
The marriage of classic and contemporary brands continues with this release. Whether it’s Kappa and Acne Studios or Lack of Guidance and Diadora, a blend of both worlds is elevating the potential of sports-infused fashion.
The Lack of Guidance x Diadora Mythos 280 GB will launch on April 11, both in-store and online at Lack of Guidance and Diadora, with select retailers worldwide following on April 18.
