Ola Aina is set to design his own signature football boot with sustainable brand Sokito.

The Nottingham Forest baller was first introduced to Sokito during last year's AFCON, when teammate and Nigeria captain William Troost-Ekong debuted the 'Scudetta' model to the world. Since then, Aina has joined dozens of other players around the world as a brand investor, taking his involvement with Sokito to another level courtesy of this upcoming collaboration.

While the process is still in its early stages, Aina has seemingly had a hands-on approach to creating his signature boot, pictured working on the unreleased pair with Sokito's design team in a recent Instagram video. Like Troost-Ekong, Aina looks to be personalising the 'Scudetta' model with glimpses suggesting they'll be Naija-inspired.

Sokito has made waves across the game this past year and despite still being in their infancy as a brand, their roster spreads across the world's biggest leagues, with 2024 seeing them secure £1.1 million of investment from 40 players.

Players designing signature boots isn't anything new, but doing so with brands built around sustainability is a positive change of direction. With millions of pairs wasted each year, it's crucial footballers - and consumers - understand the role they can play in tackling this issue.

Though official images and details of the boots are yet to be released, we could very well see Aina's signature pair take to the pitch before the end of the year. In the meantime, keep it locked to VERSUS for more updates.
