Stormzy's programme to get more young black student undergraduate degrees at Cambridge University – ‘The Stormzy Scholarship’ – is back for the second year running.

The scheme will offer black British students with financial support during their degree courses, and a maintenance grant for up to four years of any undergraduate course. 2019 will be completely funded by Stormzy, with Big Mike linking both of the 2018 undergrads last year to find out how they have been getting on with their studies.

Stormzy is one of the UK’s most inspiring young men who has consistently stood up for people from all areas of life, encouraging his fans and listeners alike to speak openly about their beliefs, vote and fight for their rights. He's enjoyed an incredible 2019, headlining Glastonbury before bringing together a who's who from the worlds of UK football and rap in Ibiza for #MerkyFest 2019 and unleashing his latest single, "Crown".

Speaking about the scholarship, Stormzy said, "I hope this scholarship serves as a small reminder that if young black students wish to study at one of the best universities in the world, then the opportunity is yours for the taking - and if funding is one of the barriers, then we can work towards breaking that barrier down."

To be eligible for a 2019 entry ‘The Stormzy Scholarship’ applicants must be of black heritage and be holding an unconditional offer. Applications must be submitted no later than Sunday 1st September 2019. The students will be selected from a list of applicants by a panel of University staff. The University encourages all students with high academic potential and enthusiasm for their chosen subject to apply. For more details on eligibility criteria, hit this link.
