A new documentary following Sven-Göran Eriksson’s life and career is set to release on Amazon Prime next month.
‘Sven’ heavily focuses on the Swedish manager’s long and trophy-riddled career, as well as his life off the touchline in a raw and unfiltered retrospective. With input from some former players and peers like David Beckham, Roberto Mancini and Wayne Rooney, the film revisits Eriksson’s long CV from his time in charge of the Three Lions as England’s first foreign manager, to his successful spells at Benfica and Lazio.
Framed by his terminal cancer diagnosis earlier this year, ‘Sven’ is an emotional but uplifting documentary, serving more as a celebration of Eriksson’s life and footballing legacy than anything else.
The film joins Amazon’s ever-growing list of football documentaries, from the successful ‘All or Nothing’ series to ‘99’ – a docuseries on Manchester United’s historic treble-winning season.
‘Sven’ is set to release on 23 August, exclusively on Amazon Prime.
