BBC has announced the launch of a documentary and a podcast series documenting Kylian Mbappé’s successful career so far and his journey to becoming a football phenomenon and a cultural icon.
At 25-years-old, Mbappé is arguably the best player in the world right now. His career has been filled with incredible highs, jaw-dropping performances and goals galore, but this documentary looks at where the story of a footballing prodigy began.
Delving into the French star’s past, the film explores his childhood in Bondy, his time at the prestigious Clairefontaine Academy and his breakout season at AS Monaco that put the world on notice.
With appearances from Arsène Wenger, Didier Deschamps, Thierry Henry, Bernardo Silva and Ibrahima Konaté, the documentary and podcast give viewers incredible insight into the making of a superstar.
The documentary will be available to watch on BBC iPlayer from 14 May, with the six-part podcast series launching on BBC Sounds that same day.
